Does not compact, does not stay down to compact anything , whirlpool repair guy came said it is not designed to compact anymore, biggest piece of junk I have spend that much money on ever.

Missing features including filter fan and filter so your kitchen Will STINK. Also missing extra compact feature so it only compacts half way. whirlpool has reduced quality and doubled the price.

Works like a compactor should. Not too loud when operating. I would hazard a guess, just based on limited usage, a compaction ratio of about 8 to 1.

I bought this unit and wish I had paid more for one that had most important feature to me that I didn't know this one didn't have. To be able to compact longer than just down and up. I thought all compactors had this feature for my compactors in the past all did. It had welds broken in the area where you put the compact bags. Didn't know I coiuld have reutrned it within 30 days or would have for wasn't what I wanted.

I bought this compactor a little over a month ago and I'm so glad I did. Its movement when the door is sliding in an out is very smooth. It was easy to install and level. The one problem I had was the the holes driled in the front and back of the door panel to attacvh the handle we 1) not large enough t accept the bolts and 2) were not alligned. Took carfe of that by redrilling ourselves.

I purchased this compactor recently from Nebraska Furniture Mart. It took awhile to get here but it was worth the wait. It replaces a Kenmore Elite purchased almost 10 years ago that is basically the same thing. The Kenmore was actually repairable with a new gear on the bottom but I decided on a new one instead. It's pretty quiet and very easy to use. So far, so good.

Compactor showed up on schedule and with the help of a Lowe's employee we were able to get it loaded with no problems. The installation process was easy and the instructions were excellent. So far the compactor has worked great and its operation is smoother and quieter than the GE compactor that we replaced after 21 years. Will say that the door material is a little flimsy, compared to the GE. Not a deal killer but it feels a little cheap. However, would buy this unit again based on service so far.

Positives: Well packaged, solid construction, much quieter than previous compactor.
Minuses: Don't care for the foot operated start switch and, it can't possibly be all that much more expensive to include an xtra-pack feature.

We have owned compactors for the past 20+ years and this one is by far the best. It compacts the garbage so much better. We change bags every 6-7 days. It does a great job.

The first compactor arrived damaged, both sides bent. The second we received broke on the fifth day of use. The gear broke in half.

I purchased the trash compactor new from Home Depot. I have not been able to have it installed, because the front drawer is bent and does not close properly. The warranty service company ordered the broken parts in July. It is almost 6 months later, and the trash compactor is not repaired. I purchased all new kitchen appliances for my remodel, and both Whirlpool products were damaged.

I bought this about three weeks ago because the one I had before I had for over 12 years and It just quit working. This one is loud and shakes and does not close properly you have to push the door sideways for it to line up to be able to close.

I have owned the compactor for a couple of months and it is now making a loud noise when we compact the trash. We owned our last compactor for 15 years and never had a running issue. We just wanted to update the unit. That was a BIG mistake. I have an order in for service and it will take 3 weeks for service. I would not recommend the Whirlpool Trash Compactor.

I bought this in December of 2021 and just received it on April 1st 2022 a long time to wait for a compactor. Sometime back they removed the spray can system that worked real good. It would be nice if they reinstated this feature. I have had 4 compactors in the past 60 years and all had the same type features, less the spray can..It has been a real good product

Purchased this unit a month ago and still have not received the charcoal filter and cover that I believe is part of the compactor. I called Whirlpool and spoke with both the ™Customer service ™ department and the ™Parts ™ department, was on the phone with them for over 2 hours. No one at Whirlpool was able to answer my question. The dealer I purchased it from is still trying to get information from his Whirlpool representative, so far no luck. I can™™t believe there is no one that can answer the question. The charcoal filter seems to me like a pretty basic item, kind of like the bag that the compactor uses. I believe that a product is only as good as the support system it has, so far I am not impressed. I am thinking I may have to settle for a ™Stick Up ™ air freshener.

Have had this compactor since December. Have had nothing but problems since day one. Takes weeks to get anyone out to repair. Our old one was 26 years old. Never had a minutes problem.
